An engineering workshop at the service of farms

FURGO was born in 2023 in the south of France out of a simple observation: connected agriculture had become a business of subscriptions, closed platforms and hardware impossible to repair. We took the opposite path — low-tech sensors in the noble sense: just enough technology to do the job, and not one bit more.

In practice: the SIM card and the platform are included in the purchase price, the hardware and firmware are open source (within the OSFARM collective), and everything is designed, assembled and tested at our Montpellier workshop, in the heart of the Agrovallée.

The founder, Nicolas Daüy, is both an agronomist and an electronics engineer — a dual background that explains the house style: sensors designed from the field, not from an open-plan office.

The team and its network

Around the founder, a team combining agronomy and IT skills — Victorine Bousquet (agri projects), Eliott Baboz (hardware), Thomas Vinas (business development) — backed by a network of loyal partners: Jean-Claude Ragris (electronics), Clément Marrast (software) and Anthony Clenet (consulting, formerly SMAG).

What we stand for

• No subscription. A sensor you bought should work as long as it works — not as long as you pay.
• Transparency. Our prices are public, our comparisons include competitors, and the limits of our products are stated on their pages.
• Repairable and open. Replaceable batteries, published schematics, exportable data. Your hardware and your data belong to you.
• Made here. Assembly, testing and after-sales service all happen in Montpellier. When you call, you talk to someone who soldered the board.

The story of FURGO

The story starts before the company: in 2015, the future founder won a first prize at Agreen Startup with a project of sensors for agriculture — and the idea never let go of him. After years of engineering between agronomy and electronics, the company FURGO was founded in 2023 in the south of France, incubated at the Agrovallée with the support of Innovosud and Montpellier Business School.

Things moved fast from there: a full range of no-subscription sensors, another Agreen Startup first prize, field trials at the Mas Numérique, SITEVI 2025 and an article in Midi Libre — and today more than 520+ sensors deployed across 90+ customers. The team was built around this growth — and even if the boat sometimes sails with a small crew, the course has never changed: simple, honest sensors that belong to the people who buy them.
