Design office & custom builds

Your sensor doesn’t exist? We build it.

Behind the FURGO sensors is a complete electronics design office, based in Montpellier. It also designs for others: technical institutes, companies, local authorities, farmers with a problem no off-the-shelf product solves. From specification to the enclosure installed in the field, everything is done here.

Our philosophy: fast and low-tech, getting the best out of existing open-source building blocks rather than reinventing every component. Where a classic design office targets high-volume consumer runs, we have the agility of the small agricultural series — 10 to 500 units, rugged, repairable, fairly priced.

The workshop’s capabilities

  • Electronics PCBs up to 4 layers, SMD
  • Connectivity LoRaWAN, GSM/NB-IoT, BLE, RTK
  • Mechanics 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC milling, metal
  • Software Firmware, platform, mobile apps
  • Production Prototype → small series (10-500 u.)
  • Philosophy Open source, repairable, low-tech
The FURGO prototyping workshop

These capabilities combine our in-house workshop and two partner venues in Montpellier: the Web5 FabLab and the AgroFablab of Institut Agro — enough to go from the morning’s prototype to the afternoon’s machined part.
