Débitdouille: industrialising a spraying sensor born at the Mobilab AgroTIC
The problem: the applied dose stays invisible
When you spray, you know the theoretical dose. The dose actually applied depends on the circuit pressure, the flow of each section and your forward speed. A nozzle clogs, one section delivers less than the other, and the gap goes unnoticed until you see the result in the field. Commercial consoles that measure all this do exist, but their price keeps them on large sprayers only.
The solution: measure pressure, flow and speed during treatment
The Débitdouille is a low-tech sensor born at the Mobilab AgroTIC, with the Hérault chamber of agriculture, as part of the Occitanum project. It measures the circuit pressure in real time, the flow of the left and right sections (two SIKA flow meters) and the forward speed by GPS, then displays everything on your smartphone through the Mobilab app. The electronics are built on an ESP32 and the plans are open source: the Hérault chamber even offers a training course so you can build it yourself.
What FURGO contributed
Not everyone has time to solder their own sensor. FURGO took the Mobilab design and turned it into a ready-to-fit product:
- Industrialisation: moving from a fablab prototype to repeatable small-series production.
- Pre-assembly: electronics unit assembled and configured, GPS and pressure sensors, two SIKA flow meters, wiring and connectors included. Sold at €220 excl. VAT.
- Reliability: connection checks, sensor calibration and assistance with first use when installing it on your sprayer.
The self-build tutorial remains public: the pre-assembled version locks nobody in, it simply saves time. That is exactly the role FURGO claims — taking a good collaborative low-tech project and making it available, reliable, with no subscription.
