Technical specifications

The FURGO Track is a GPS unit designed for farm machinery: irrigation hose reels and pivots, machines shared in a co-op, trailers left at the edge of the plot. You follow their position in real time from your phone or computer, and the unit only disturbs you when it matters: a hose reel tipping over, an impact, a machine leaving the zone you have defined.

How it works

The tracker spends most of its time in deep sleep, at 16 µA. Motion is what wakes the GPS: as long as the machinery does not move, the unit wastes nothing. The built-in solar panel offsets the consumption, and the IP67 housing shrugs off dust, rain and rough handling on site. On the network side, it transmits over GSM/4G: wherever your phone gets signal, the tracker communicates. Nothing to install on the farm.

No subscription, really

The SIM card is already in the unit, activated, with no recurring fees. Access to the tracking platform and the updates are included. And since the hardware and the firmware are fully open source, you are locked in to no one: the unit can be inspected, modified and repaired. It is the same logic as across the whole FURGO range — hardware you buy once, not a rent.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install an antenna or a gateway on the farm?

No. The FURGO Track communicates over GSM/4G: it works anywhere a phone gets signal, with no local infrastructure to install or configure.

How does the battery last on a hose reel that hardly moves?

On standby, the unit draws 16 µA: the GPS only wakes up when motion is detected. The built-in solar panel recharges it the rest of the time, without any action on your part.

Are there any costs after purchase?

No. The SIM card is included in the unit, with no subscription and no recurring fees. Access to the tracking platform and the updates are included.

What does “open source” mean in practice?

The hardware and the firmware are published in full. No black box: you can inspect, modify and repair your tracker, with technology proven over more than 10 years.
