Technical specifications

The OpenWeatherMap forecast point complements your FURGO sensors: the sensors tell you what is happening right now in the plot, the forecast point tells you what is coming over the next 5 days. Enough to plan a night of sprinkler protection, postpone a treatment or warn the team before a frost event.

A forecast where it matters

Standard weather bulletins give one value for the town or the wider area. Here, you place the point yourself on the map of your farm — a valley floor, an exposed hillside — and the temperature and humidity forecasts are calculated for that precise spot. If your needs change, you move the point online, without asking us for anything.

How it works

The system queries the OpenWeatherMap API, an open-source source used worldwide. The data is downloaded four times a day and displayed automatically on your Supervisor account, next to your sensor readings. Nothing to install, nothing to plug in, nothing to maintain: no SIM, no battery, so nothing to top up. You pay for the point once and it appears on your dashboard — true to the FURGO approach, with no running subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install anything on the farm?

No, nothing. It is a digital service: you log in to your Supervisor dashboard, place the point on the map, and the forecasts appear. No hardware, no cables.

Can I move the forecast point after purchase?

Yes. You set the location directly on your map and can adapt it at any time — new plot, different exposure, different need.

Where does the data come from?

From the OpenWeatherMap API, a globally recognised open-source source. The data is downloaded 4 times a day and made available automatically on your Supervisor account.

What is the difference with the Météo-France forecast point?

Same principle, different source: this one relies on OpenWeatherMap. Many farmers take both to cross-check forecasts before a high-risk night. Worth knowing: 2 forecast points are included with every FURGO frost alarm sensor.
