An empty tank at the wrong moment costs money
Running out of off-road diesel (GNR) always happens at the worst time: mid-harvest, mid-sowing, when every tractor is running and the supplier is overloaded. An emergency delivery means a job at a standstill, sometimes a whole day lost, and often a higher price because you are ordering with your back to the wall.
The opposite is just as costly: ordering without knowing precisely what is left in the tank means missing the market dips. Diesel varies by several cents per litre from one week to the next — on a 3 000-litre order, a 5-cent gap makes 150 €. Knowing at all times where your tank stands means you can order when prices are low, not when the gauge forces your hand.
Then there is the third problem, the one people talk about less: fuel theft. A tank that loses 200 litres overnight, with no monitoring, nobody notices before the next invoice.

Competitor prices are those publicly listed in early 2026 — check them, they change. The maths is simple: in the first year the gap is small (286 € versus ~293 €). From the second year on, FURGO is cheaper. Over five years, the difference approaches 170 € — per tank. And as with every subscription offer, the alerts stop if you stop paying. Once bought, a FURGO sensor keeps watching for as long as it works.
What the FURGO sensor actually does
- It measures the level by ultrasound, with no contact with the fuel: ±1 cm accuracy, measuring range from 28 cm to 7,5 m — it covers the usual farm tanks.
- It alerts you when the level runs low: voice call to up to 10 numbers in cascade, SMS and emails as back-up. You set the threshold yourself on the platform.
- It detects an abnormal drop. A fall in level during the night or over a weekend shows up immediately on the curve — enough to spot a theft or a leak before the tank is empty.
- It is ready to use: SIM card included, no gateway, no box to install. Take it out of the box, switch it on, it transmits. It works wherever there is mobile coverage, on any network.
- It runs on battery for several years; allow a SIM top-up of about 30 € around the fourth year — the only recurring cost.
- 286 € excl. VAT all included: sensor, SIM, alerts and platform access included.
Worth knowing before you order: the sensor measures a flat surface (diesel, heating oil, water — not irregular heaps), and the detection cone (2 × 20°) requires a tank that is not too narrow. Among those who use it
The typical scenario: an alert threshold set at 20 or 25 % of the tank, a glance at the level from the phone before placing an order, and no more trips back and forth to the gauge.
